Most stinging insect calls come down to three things: paper wasps under a railing or soffit, yellow jackets in a wall void or a hole in the lawn, or bald-faced hornets in a grey papery nest hanging off a tree. Each behaves differently, so we identify the nest before anyone approaches it and treat at the time of day when the colony is home.
Once the colony is down the nest comes off, and the spot it was attached to gets treated so next year's queen looks elsewhere. If the nest sits inside a wall we tell you that plainly, because that job is about treating the void properly, not plugging the hole and sealing everything in. Keep people and pets away from the area until we say it is finished.
